FEEDBACK

Thanks to everyone who took the time to send a text or drop an email after the 3rd edition of the RADAR RIDE. We have posted a selection of that feedback below.

It was a good day out and the food at the food stop was great. Cakes and orange quarters were the highlight for me.

Thanks for organising the RADAR RIDE. Shame the windy conditions precluded us getting to the top at the end.

Just a thank you for a good day. I have clocked 5 sportives this year and the RADAR RIDE has ben the best route and friendly helpers, please pass on my thanks. Maybe next year I will get to the radar station.

Many thanks to you and all your colleagues for a well run event yesterday. It was a pity the weather was not kinder to us, but that's Scotland for you! At least those of us taking part were able to cycle to keep warm - so I would really like to extend my thanks to all the marshalls and helpers who manned the feed stations, junctions and the timing stations at the start and finish. It was a cold day for eveyone to be standing around but the sandwiches and good humour along the way was very much appreciated.

Had a great day considering the weather.

Just wanted to drop a quick email to say thanks to all of the team for the great event on Sunday. I would especially like to thank all of the marshalls and the people at the feed station for their support and encouragement during the event. A "special thank you" goes to the guy at the last feed station who said it was all down hill from there...and I stupidly believed him. I really should have studied that profile card better. The weather was a bit wild during the ride, especially the bit after the Talla descent when you turned onto the main road towards Moffat. The valley road was a wind tunnel and a half !! When you have to pedal hard to make progress down a hill you know things have got just a bit ridiculous on the weather front...don't you. The scenery was spectacular when the sun did come out briefly and although I spent most of the time riding by myself and thinking I must have gone the wrong way there was always a sign (or a rider with a puncture) to reassure me that I was going in the right direction.

Just a quick email to say thanks to the plucky marshalls and other helpers who turned up in the atrocious weather yesterday. In the car park, we were hovering, wondering whether to turn back and go home, but our group stayed and decided to do the Baby Radar in the end. I was glad I did, just to have the sheer joy of the tailwind on Dalveen. I have never before done the downhill of Mennock in my bailout gear in such a headwind, with the uphill stretch on Dalveen producing speeds of over 20 mph in the big ring with the tailwind! Amazing. If you are considering a new month to move the event to, just a thought about some existing events which tend to stick to their calendar dates, perhaps to avoid a clash with : Drumlanrig Tearfund challenge - usually first Saturday in May Mid May - Etape Caledonia mid June - Bike week - various sportives maybe an early June or late June would work? Or late August into September? Anyway, hope to return to enjoy the event for a second time and maybe make it up the hill if weather (and my fitness) allows.

Well done on the organisation of the event the marshaling was absolutely superb and faultless- despite the wind -I'll try again next year for the proper summit finish hopefully this time without the comedy wind.

A fantastic ride, even though the wind was brutal coming back down the Grey Mare's Tail!

Thank you and your team for all your hard work and organisation, it was a great day despite the weather! Looking at the results, if we had not stopped in Moffat we would not have been last!

Can I thank your helpers for organising the Radar Ride yesterday. I thought the overall organisation was excellent and the helpers and marshalls were enthusiastic and supportive. The signage was very easy to see which helps after 100 miles. I'm looking forward to 2011.

I thought it was a great event which was well set up and organised. It was a good call about the hill, there were enough issues with Talla without any one adding to the drama by having a high speed 'off' on the descent. It was good to know Bob and Tam (National Escort Group) were out there and they always had a cheery word to say when they passed.

Well done to you and your team for putting on a great show! I will continue to recommend the ride and hope for better weather next year! Susan's pics are great and she did a great job given the lighting conditions.
